It lends a whole new level of urgency to the first minutes of the 1977 film, with the audience now knowing the sacrifice of those until-now unnamed Rebels. No other prequel in film history has flowed so seamlessly into its next installment, with the final moments of Rogue One ending right before A New Hope begins.
